Michele Scholnick is the mind, hands and talent behind Branch Jewelry. And so that you know, she has a great sense of humor too. Michele describes Branch jewelry as kind of minimal, kind of organic and largely nature-inspired. I would add perfectly hand-carved, gorgeous small sculptures in gold and silver accented with diamonds. But don’t trust me, go to her site and see it for yourself and while you’re at it read her biography and laugh with her witty description of how she got into the jewelry world.

All of Branch Jewelry is handmade in Venice Beach, California in a sun-filled studio and with the huge help of June and Olive, Michele’s adorable dogs. And again, don’t trust me, just check the photos below and see how helpful they are in the studio. And the funny thing is that a lot of the jewelry creation process takes place during the middle of the night, as Michele is a renowned night owl. And jewelry is not the only thing being created in the small hours. Branch Jewelry has a new line of home accessories in bronze that can adorn your house or studio (I would still go with her jewelry to adorn my neck or fingers). Still, it is a pleasure to see Michele’s beautiful jewelry sparkle during the day and see the intricate details of the new bronze vases in the sunlight.

I don’t know where she found the time, but Michele was so kind to spend (way more than) 5 minutes of her busy time with SpaceUnseen and tells us a little bit of what’s going on in her studio. She answered a questionnaire and sent us a lot of pics of her studio and of her 2 loyal assistants.
